Tom Through to Rock City Final

Tom wishes to thank everyone that took the time and voted for him last week in the NUSIC Future Sound Of Nottingham competition. It was revealed yesterday that Tom is now through to the final of the competition, which will see 6 bands compete against each other at Nottingham’s prestigious Rock City where the winner, judged by a panel of music industry experts, will open the Splendour Festival main stage at Nottingham’s Wollaton Park this summer supporting Dizzee Rascal, Katy and Razorlight.

The final will be on Sunday 17th June at Nottingham’s Rock City and doors will open at 6pm. Entry will be free and we need as many fans down there as possible to support Tom and the band.

You can listen to all the finalists here on http://www.nusic.org.uk/wordpress/

“Tom Wardle completed the first day’s entries, with arguably the most confident performance of the afternoon; he was certainly the most slickly turned out, in shades and a sharp suit.”

Tom Needs Your Votes For Splendour Festival

Tom has made it to the semi-finals of NUSIC’s Future Sound of Nottingham Competition, where the eventual winner will win a slot opening the main stage at this years Splendour Festival at Wollaton Park in Nottingham. It’s going to be great, but Tom needs all of your votes.

It only take two clicks to cast it, so visit https://apps.facebook.com/opinionpolls/poll?pid=AB-_cTB56L8 and make sure yours is cast by next Wednesday 26 April and spread the word. We need as many as we can to ensure that Tom and his band get that opening slot at the festival!

New EP Finished

It’s true! I’ve been threatening it for a while but the long awaited EP has now been finished. It’s mixed and it’s sounding wonderful, a good balance of old style Tom Wardle pop with a sophisticated new vocal sound (the huskiness from the last EP disappeared when I had a throat operation a couple of years ago).

At the moment I’m currently arranging artwork and a video, and then we’re sorting out getting a digital release date, which I expect to be mid-April.

New tracks are:

1. Part of Me
2. California (Here I Come)

3. Pink Lilies

4. Sweet Insanity

Will get it posted up on the website along with details of where to but it very soon!

Me recreating the cover of my favourite song ever, Digging Your Scene by the Blow Monkeys. Maybe I should nick this for my EP cover!

University Gig Announced

Tom has confirmed that he will be doing a solo acoustic show on Monday 26th March at Escucha in Nottingham for the Uni’s High Spirits event. Tom will be onstage from 10pm.

New EP, Video and new Managment

The EP is tantalisingly close to being finished. I went round to drummer Jon Harper’s house earlier where he put down some brass sections on new song “Part of Me”, so it’s now sounding like Van Morrisson! All being well I’ll have the final mixes in my hands in around two weeks time ready to press.

In the meanwhile I’m meeting with a few video directors next week to discuss ideas for doing my first promo vid, which I can reveal will be for the song “Pink Lillies”.

Also by the end of the month I hope to be under new management. More to
be unveiled nearer the time.

In the meanwhile keep coming to the gigs: the residencies at Almanac, O’Neills and Tonic are all proving to be increasingly popular and it’s great that I’m now getting to know so many of you. I hope they continue for the rest of the year.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?

I’ve been recording the EP for the past few weeks and this is a demo of one of the songs on it, Pink Lillies. Not as straightforward a love song as you might first think, it is one of my favourite lyrics and this is the first demo I recorded at home for it back in October last year. Enjoy, until the real thing come along very soon (March.)
